Farther north and west, snowfall amounts are expected to rapidly taper off as 1 to 3 inches of snow will be possible in a narrow band to the east and south of Louisville. Through the Louisville metro and points west and north, even lighter amounts are currently forecast with totals of 1 inch or less expected.Please keep in mind that snow forecasts often change. A small shift in the eventual storm track across our region can have big impacts on snow chances and amounts. In this storm, especially there is a very sharp gradient between locations getting an accumulation of snow and other areas receiving nothing. A final bout of light snow and flurries is in the forecast Monday for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, with an additional dusting of snow possible. If you have travel plans across the region this weekend, stay up-to-date on forecast changes and plan on extra time to reach your destination safely.
