Tuesday Closures And Delays Across The Puget Sound After Sunday’s Snowfall – KIRO Seattle

The snowfall on Sunday caused several closures and delays across the Puget Sound.

City of Seattle

Seattle Municipal Court: Closed to the Public on Monday, Dec. 27. The in-custody arraignment calendar is planned to hold as scheduled in King County Jail Courtroom 2.

Seattle Public Utilities: Garbage pick-up canceled Tuesday.

West Seattle Water Taxi is canceled Monday.

King County

Boys & Girls Clubs of King County are closed Monday.

King County Metro: Bus service shifting to Emergency Snow Network on Tuesday, Dec. 28. Bus service will be reduced to 60 core routes.

King County Superior Court: Closed Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, due to inclement weather.

Public Health – Seattle & King County: Most COVID-19 testing sites will be closed Tuesday, but the Angle Lake, Auburn and Renton sites are open for testing. The Angle Lake and Renton sites will have reduced hours. For more details, visit: kingcounty.gov/covidtesting

Vashon Water Taxi canceled Monday.

Kitsap County

Courthouse, all County Offices and County Parks: Closed Monday, Dec. 27.

Kitsap Public Health District: Closed on Tuesday, Dec. 28 due to ongoing icy conditions.

Mason County

Skokomish Tribe: Closed.

Skagit County

Due to icy conditions, certain Public Health services will be delayed or closed on Monday, Dec. 27. We expect our service counter to open at 12 p.m. The fairgrounds testing and vaccine site and county Seniors Centers will be closed.

Snohomish County

Marysville: Due to icy road conditions, all City of Marysville residential and commercial trash collection is canceled Monday.

Thurston County

Thurston County offices will have a delayed opening on Tuesday, December 28, with operations beginning at 10 a.m.

  • Superior Court offices at the Main Campus, Family Juvenile Court (FJC), and Drug Court will open at 9:30 a.m.
  • Superior Court morning calendars and hearings scheduled to begin before 9:30 a.m. will begin at 10 a.m.
  • District Court in-person services will begin at 10 a.m. However, District Court will still conduct all court hearings as scheduled, to begin at 9 a.m. These will be conducted virtually via Zoom.

Colleges & Universities

Bates Technical College: Closed rest of the week Monday, Dec. 28 – Dec. 31.

Bellevue College: Closed due to icy road conditions in and around the Bellevue area. Student Housing will remain open.

Centralia College: Closed.

Edmonds College: Operating remotely on Tuesday, Dec. 28.

Everett Community College: Closed Tuesday, Dec. 28. All EvCC and WSU Everett operations will be conducted online.

Evergreen State College: Closed. Olympia & Tacoma campuses closed Monday, Dec. 27.

Lake Washington Institute of Tech.: College will be closed Monday, Dec. 27 and resume normal operations on Dec. 28.

North Seattle College: Closed but operating remotely Tuesday, Dec. 28.

Pierce College: Closed. No services will be available on-campus or online.

Pima Medical Institute – Seattle: All offices closed and campus will be closed Monday, Dec. 27.

Renton Technical College: Closed but operating remotely. Campus will be closed for continued cleanup all week.

Skagit Valley College: Closed. All campuses and centers are closed Monday, Dec. 27. All operations are suspended, and all campus activities, including athletic and events, are canceled. Updates and more at skagit.edu/alert.

South Seattle College: Closed Monday but operating remotely.

Tacoma Community College: Closed but operating remotely. Campus is closed to the public, including Early Learning Center, thru Jan. 2.

UW Bothell: Closed but operating remotely. Suspended operations Monday, Dec. 27.

UW Tacoma: Closed but operating remotely. Suspended operations Tuesday, Dec. 28.

Medical

Thira Health: Closed but operating remotely for Tuesday, Dec. 28. Staff report online by 8 a.m. Virtual PHP program will start at 9 a.m. All other virtual programming is on schedule.

Organizations

South Sound YMCA – Child Care Services: All child care closed Tuesday, Dec. 28.

Skokomish Tribe: 2 Hours Late Tuesday, Dec 28th.

Recreation

Woodland Park Zoo daytime admissions will open late at 10:30 a.m. WildLanterns will open on time at 4 p.m.

North Sound Privates, Charters, Childcares

Wee Care Academy: Adjusted hours 9am to 5pm for Tuesday, Dec. 28.

Seattle-area Privates, Charters, Childcares

Gateway Christian Schools: 1 Hour Late. Learning Center – open Tuesday, December 28th with limited spaces and adjusted spaces and adjusted hours.

Primrose School of West Bellevue: Closed Tuesday, Dec. 28.

Puget Sound Elec. JATC: Closed Monday, Dec. 27.

TLC Montessori: Closed due to the inclement weather.

South Sound Privates, Charters, Childcares

Rainier Christian School District: Little People Preschool and Childcare and Maple Valley Preschool and Childcare are closed Monday, Dec. 27 and Dec. 28.

Our Place To Grow Children’s Center, Spanaway: Closed Tuesday, Dec. 28.
