Hazy Moon
The moon shines through layers of haze, giving off an orange hue, Tuesday evening, July 20, 2021. The haze was from wildfires burning in Canada’s British Columbia, where there were nearly 300 active fires on Wednesday morning. A majority of the fires are believed to have been started from lightning.

The plane crashed after passengers and crew tried to take back control after it was hijacked by al-Qaeda terrorists on September 11, 2001. The plane crashed in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, killing everyone on board.

Visitors enter the Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, nearly 20 years after 40 passenger and crew members died trying to take back control of a plane that was hijacked by al-Qaeda terrorists on September 11, 2001. The plane crashed in a field, saving the U.S. Capitol Building (the terrorists intended target) but killing everyone on board.

The Norfolk & Western Class J 611 locomotive is seen at Strasburg Rail Road, Thursday, July 15, 2021. The locomotive was built in 1950 and is the last running locomotive of the 14 ever made. From 1950 to 1959, the 611 pulled a 15-car passenger train from Norfolk, Virginia, to Cincinnati, Ohio.

Libre, a five-year-old Boston terrier, poses for a photo, Monday, June 7, 2021. Libre was found nearly dead in southern Lancaster County in 2016. Since he was brought to Speranza in Mechanicsburg, he’s healed and has inspired legislation, named Libre’s Law, to enforce harsher penalties on people who abuse animals. He still lives at the animal rescue, just now in the private residence that overlooks the farm.
